EDITED TO ADD: Commissioner Pauley has corrected his annual report, but still hasn't filed campaign finance report #4 from the 2014 election cycle. The corrected annual report is linked here.
Original story follows.
"What was that all about?"
The words of County Commissioner Hank Vogler, curious about what KELY's Wyatt Cox was talking about in public comments at the conclusion of the March 12 meeting.
I find it interesting that some commissioners come to the meeting with questions appearing to be prepared but instead are asking questions that should have been addressed in preparation for the meeting, particularly from members who have not only NOT completed their campaign finance reports from the 2024 election, but indicate in their 2025 finance disclosure statement that they have no outside income apart from their compensation from their office. That was significantly different from what was reported on the 2024 Financial Disclosure Statement.
We have the receipts. In our simple research on the state's AURORA Campaign Disclosure Web page, Newly elected commissioner and businessman Tim Pauley's required filings are not only incomplete, but inconsistent.
Pauley failed to file the final required report by the January 15th deadline covering the period from October 1 to December 31, as you can see in the screenshot below.
In the three reports listed, Pauley failed to indicate the purchase of yard signs or newspaper advertising. He also didn't indicate receiving any donations. If he purchased the signs or advertising, it should be in the report. If someone else purchased the signs or advertising, it should have been reported as an in-kind donation. Links to copies of the report are linked below
The 2024 Candidate Financial Disclosure,
linked here, also seems inconsistent with the 2025 Appointment Financial Disclosure,
linked here. It's also believed the 2025 report that Pawley filed was the incorrect form as it should have been the 2025 Annual Financial Disclosure. There are slight differences in the forms as they should mirror the Candidate Financial Disclosure forms.
Mr Pauley may be confused over the forms. It is possible that he just forgot. But as a businessman, he should be taking as much care of his responsibilities as a Commissioner as he does his business. And from where I sit, he appears to be lacking.
